Tax Rebate Letters Coming

The Internal Revenue Service will send a special mailing to some recipients of Social Security and Veterans Affairs benefits in late March 2008. Those benefits are typically nontaxable and recipients do not have to file tax returns. Disabled veterans and others who do not normally file a tax return will have to file a federal return for 2007 in order to take advantage of the rebate checks that will be mailed later this year. For more information, visit the IRS' Economic Stimulus Payments Information Center.
