June 2009 will mark the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France during World War II. Professor Mark D. Van Ells of Queensborough Community College (CUNY) will lead a 10-day study abroad tour to Europe in June 2009 to commemorate this important chapter in history.

This program is open to all Queensborough students, students outside of Queensborough, as well as members of the general public.

The tour begins in London, and includes visits to the Imperial War Museum and the Cabinet War Rooms. Travelers continue to Normandy, where participants will tour the invasion beaches and be present for anniversary ceremonies.

Then it's on to Paris, including visits to the Musee de l'Armee and the city's Jewish Quarter. An optional extension to the Ardennes region of Belgium, scene of the Battle of the Bulge, is also available.

The tour departs on June 1st, and is conducted by EF Tours of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Non-students must pay an adult supplement. For more information regarding this exciting trip, please contact Professor Van Ells at: mvanells@qcc. cuny.edu, or call (718) 631-6043.
