{EXCERPT} Tonawanda News, NY... The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas Riviera Veterans Recognition Concert on Sunday entertained the crowd with twelve patriotic songs ranging..... .



The show is part of an annual tradition in the Tonawandas and an attempt to recognize past and present members of the U.S. armed services.

“It means something to me because of all the veterans and what they’ve done for our country,” said David Abrahamian, president of the band and the son of a veteran. “The style of music is reflective of the occasion.”

The band played two sets, breaking in the middle to present an award to Major William Vivian of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Abrahamian presented Vivian with a plaque containing the insignias of all branches of the armed services.....
