IAVA Storms the Hill again in 2012

Sean,

We made a huge impact.

Not all of you could be there on Capitol Hill last week. But thousands helped our 26 Stormers give Washington's army of lobbyists a run for their money.

Thanks to you, IAVA's making faster progress in the fight against vet unemployment. In just a week, our Storm the Hill teams met with over 140 Congressional offices. We sat down with General David Petraeus as well as the President and First Lady's senior advisors at the White House. And we rallied Republicans and Democrats alike to introduce not just one but two critical bills to protect the New GI Bill and help vets get more career training and jobs.

Take a minute to watch a quick recap of our trip to Washington.

Across the country, IAVA members are facing a 17% unemployment rate, significantly higher than the national average. We know challenges still lie ahead, and we've got significant work to do to help vets transition home and build careers.

But Storm the Hill is just the start of a bigger year for IAVA in DC and nationwide. The energy of last week is sending ripple effects from Atlanta to Boise to Dallas as our Stormers return to their hometowns motivated and ready to make a difference in the lives of fellow vets.

With your continued support, together we can double their impact—and continue to wage this fight all year long.
