Veterans Job Bill Killer Jay Rockefeller Will not Run for Re-Election in 2014

Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller will not run for a sixth term in 2014, opening up a seat in deep red West Virginia, POLITICO has learned.

Rockefeller will formally announce his decision at an event in Charleston, W.Va., later this morning.

Rockefeller is chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. He was first elected to the Senate in 1984, and is one of the most senior Senate Democrats.
