Dear Senator Schumer & Gillibrand,
I am writing to you as a VFW advocate to ask you to "Finish Strong for Veterans" by passing a quality Veterans Jobs Bill before the end of the year.
Yesterday, the Senate failed to pass the Veterans Jobs Corps Bill due to budgetary rules and political games. With unemployment among veterans at staggering numbers the time to act is now.
I can think of no better group of Americans to invest in. They have have proven their work ethic, ability to learn quickly and adapt and of course the fortitude it takes to accomplish the mission.
They have led the country overseas in the fight against Communism and the War on Terror.Now they can lead us out of this great recession if they are given the right tools.
Our nation's veterans should not be an election year talking point. I ask you to put party politics aside, reach across the aisle, and build a Veterans Jobs Bill that will help our nation's heroes.
