Veterans Unemployment Data From The Latest Jobs Report 5/4/13

As with every first Friday of the month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has released its unemployment data.  Attached is our 'cheat sheet' that provides most of the data at a glance on a page.

National: 7.5% (-.1%)

All Vets: 6.2%  (-.9%)

Post- 9/11: 7.5% (-1.7%)

18-24: 17.9% (-15%)

25-34: 7.7%  (-1.5%)

35-44: 6.1%  (-.2%)

45-54: 5.1% (+.1%)

55+: 6.1% (-1.2%)

Brief heads up:  We have recently learned of several efforts by fraudulent people or organizations that are contacting Veterans with the promise of employment.  They ask for personal information such as SSN, date of birth, bank information, etc.  In some cases sending fraudulent checks to the Veteran, asking them to deposit them and return by money order a lesser amount.  So, just a reminder to everyone ... if it sounds too good to be true - it probably is.  If in doubt, verify.
